EMAILING THE PLANNING COMMITTEE

Please email the Planning Committee Members.

The rejection by Cambridgeshire County Council of Amey Cespa's application to build the waste incinerator will be considered by the Planning Inspectorate after Amey Cespa lodged an appeal to strong arm the council into submission.

The Members of CCC's planning committee unanimously voted to object in September 2018 (on grounds of severe harm to landscape and heritage).  Each of these members can be written to with questions, concerns and objections you want them to consider.  They welcome your input as CCC prepares to defend it's decision through a public inquiry. The process Amey has triggered will cost the council tens to hundreds of thousands of pounds in legal fees.

Please be polite when corresponding with the members.

Listed below are their names, email addresses, the political party they represent, the area they represent and the area in which they live. At the bottom of the page are links to documents with official responses to the application by CBWIN and UKWIN, and a general draft letter. You may wish to select points from these, or copy and paste the whole document to send - please try to add your own comments if you can though.

COMMENTING  TO THE APPEAL INSPECTOR

What is important NOW is that you voice your thoughts to the planning inspector presiding over the appeal.

Mr Tim Salter (appeal case lead)

Tim.Salter@pins.gsi.gov.uk

0303 444 5000

How to Comment

Deadline for comments is 4th November (before midnight)

When commenting you must include the following:

Appeal Ref:  APP/E0535/W/19/3225123

Site: Levitt's Field, Waterbeach Waste Management Park, Ely Road, Cambridge, CB25 9PG

You can email comments to : appeals@planninginspectorate.gov.uk and Tim.Salter@pins.gsi.gov.uk

Make sure you also copy in Secretary of State for Communities Mr Robert Jenrick MP- He has decided to 'recover the appeal' which means after the inquiry finishes, the appeal inspector will send a report to  SOS and he alone in Westminster will decide.  This is rare and we don't know why he has chosen to preside over the outcome of this.  It is vital he hears directly about how people feel, this will only be summarised in the inspectors report.

His email is : robert.jenrick.mp@parliament.uk (it is strongly advised that you also cc in local MPs whose contact details are above, so that they can support the community voice and are involved in conversations with Mr Jenrick MP.

Or, upload your comment to the inspector via (don't forget to send an email to the Sec of State too): https://www.gov.uk/appeal-planning-inspectorate

Planning Documents

To view the various original application documents go to Planning application and appeals. Please note you will need the planning application reference number S/3372/17/CW. (Comments on the original application closed when CCC ruled to reject the application).

CCC may be also contacted in these ways:

-        by email - planningdc@cambridgeshire.gov.uk

-         by fax - 01223 475 998

-         by post - Rachel Jones and Emma Fitch, County Planning, Minerals and Waste Team, Box SH1315, Shire Hall, Cambridge, CB3 0AP

-         delivery in person to Cambridgeshire County Council Reception.

Please note that representations made to the Planning Inspectorate are public and documents will be provided to the applicant and defendant on request. They will also be made available for the planning inspector case lead to read before the inquiry on which the appeal made is to be decided.

Members of the public may inspect copies of the application and the plans and other documents submitted with it by prior appointment only at Shire Hall, Castle Hill, Cambridge, or at the appropriate district council office. Planning applications can also be viewed online.
